AMORIM SHINES IN MILAN DERBY! AC MILAN BEAT INTER 3-1 IN A STATEMENT VICTORY

Rúben Amorim's tactical masterclass inspires the Rossoneri to a memorable Derby della Madonnina victory, with Diego Moreira delivering a stunning performance.

AC Milan secured an impressive 3-1 victory over city rivals Inter Milan on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in the 10th round of the Italian Serie A, at the iconic San Siro Stadium.

Under the leadership of Portuguese manager Rúben Amorim, the Rossoneri produced an outstanding performance, particularly in the first half, demonstrating tactical organisation, attacking intensity and clinical finishing.

Milan made a flying start to the derby, opening the scoring just four minutes into the match. Christian Pulisic found the back of the net with a header following an excellent cross from Diego Moreira.

Just six minutes later, Adrien Rabiot doubled Milan's advantage, finishing another dangerous attacking move created by Moreira. The impressive start left Inter struggling to cope with Milan's intensity.

Inter managed to reduce the deficit in the 22nd minute through Alessandro Bastoni, who scored with a header following a set-piece situation.

However, Milan restored their two-goal advantage just before half-time. In the 43rd minute, Diego Moreira produced a magnificent free-kick to make it 3-1, capping an outstanding individual performance.

In the second half, Inter attempted to fight their way back into the game, creating several attacking opportunities. However, they encountered a well-organised Milan defence that remained disciplined and determined until the final whistle.

Much of the credit goes to Rúben Amorim, whose tactical approach proved decisive. Milan displayed excellent defensive compactness, aggressive pressing and quick attacking transitions. The team's ability to exploit the wide areas and take advantage of set-piece opportunities highlighted the Portuguese manager's preparation.

Amorim also deserves recognition for how his players managed the second half, protecting their advantage while limiting Inter's attacking threat.

With this victory, AC Milan moved to 21 points and provisionally climbed to fourth place in the Serie A standings. Inter, meanwhile, suffered their first league defeat of the season after recording eight wins and one draw.

Diego Moreira was undoubtedly one of the standout performers, contributing one goal and two assists, while Amorim received praise for delivering a collective performance that reflected his tactical philosophy.

This was more than just a derby victory. It was a statement of intent from Rúben Amorim, who is beginning to leave his mark at AC Milan and demonstrate that his team can compete with Italy's strongest sides.
